Austria 2026 Embodied Intelligence Robodog Challenge
First robodog challenge between Austria and China

The Education Directorate of Lower Austria, together with Austrian–Chinese education and technology partners, announces the inaugural Austria 2026 Embodied Intelligence Robodog Challenge, to be held on 26–27 May 2025 at HTL Mödling in Austria.
This competition marks a significant milestone as the first technology competition jointly organized by ESECA (Euro Sino Education and Culture Alliance) and its Austrian partners, inaugurating a new chapter in Austrian–Chinese educational collaboration.
As a flagship initiative of the Education Directorate of Lower Austria, with support from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, this competition reflects the shared vision of all stakeholders to cultivate future technology talent and help young students adapt to a new era defined by intelligent technologies, autonomous robotic systems, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
The competition focuses on embodied intelligence, robotics, and international vocational education cooperation. Students and young talents from Austria and China will compete in hands-on challenges involving advanced quadruped robots (“robodogs”), testing capabilities in autonomous interaction, motion control, and real-world task execution.
A major highlight of the project is the official deployment of six advanced embodied intelligence quadruped robots developed by Chinese robotics company MagicLab. Integrating AI perception, motion control, and autonomous navigation, these robots will provide vital support for future-oriented robotics education and applied AI training.
Beyond the competition itself, the project aims to develop participants’ logical thinking, creative problem-solving, engineering competence, and international collaboration skills. The organizers aspire to establish the Austria 2026 Embodied Intelligence Robodog Challenge as a long-term platform for education and technology exchange between Austria and China.
The competition will be conducted in an international online co-event format, enabling real-time interaction and synchronized participation between Austrian and Chinese student teams.
As part of a long-term cooperation plan, organizers are actively working to invite the Austrian winning team to travel to China in July 2025 to participate in the IEIIC International Embodied Intelligence Innovation Competition (China–Austria Embodied Intelligence Robot Young Craftsmen Special Event).
The opening ceremony on 26 May 2025 at 14:00 will welcome distinguished guests from Austria and China, including representatives from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, the Education Directorate of Lower Austria, and delegations from Chinese education and industry institutions.
The Austria 2026 Embodied Intelligence Robodog Challenge aims to deepen international cooperation in science and technology education, inspire the innovative potential of young people, and establish a sustainable international exchange platform for the future of robotics and AI education.
